The radiation emitted by your cell phone, is it a health concern?
Mobile phone radiation and health concerns has finally been raised to the levels where research is being done. Since the late 90's there has been a massive increase in the use of cellular throughout the world ... and it's only going to grow more. Cellphones use electromagnetic radiation, much like a microwave, and many believe this may be harmful to human health, specifically your brain.
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that cancer is unlikely to be caused by cellular phones and that reviews have found no convincing evidence for other health effects. Like most technology and pharmaceutical products, the verdict is still out what long term exposure can do to the human body.
For a phone to pass FCC certification, the manufacturer must keep the max. SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) below than 1.6 watts per kilogram. That level seems modest until you consider offices or crowded freeways where you have dozens of people using their cells in a small area. The problem is compounded when you realize radio & tv signals are sharing the same airwaves.
I created MobilePhoneRadiation.org to be a resource hub to keep the public informed about the dangers of cellphones and will release the most up to date studies and scientific research and help you cut through the noise so you can hear the signal clearly.
